Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kentucky
I received a citation for unlawful taking (shoes) today and have been scheduled for a court date. I have a clean record (not even a parking ticket). Will this be on my personal record? What is the next step? Can the charges be reduced?

You may be eligible for a diversion program that would permit you to avoid a criminal record or be eligible to have the charges dismissed after performing some community service or some classes. I recommend seeking the services of an attorney who can assist you in this matter to avoid having this matter appear on your criminal record.
