revealing misdemeanors on job applications
Is it manditory when applying for a job to include convictions of public intoxication, reckless driving or unorderly conduct? Do they all classify as minor misdemeanor offenses? Will they show on police checks for employers?

Disorderly conduct is a misdemeanor; reckless driving is a traffic offense; and public intoxication is also a misdemeanor.

From what I am being told, background checks are including these types of misdemeanors. I think that the main problem being faced is that the applicant is deciding to leave off the minor stuff. When the prospective employer (or whoever) runs the background check the omitted matters are discovered. The employer does not hire the applicant because they feel that he or she was not being truthful on the application. It is better to set them out pursuant to any request and let the employer sort through them to see if they are acceptable.
