Child Support

How does one qualify for a child support increase? Child support was set, initially, August,1991, with no increase since.

Re: Child Support

You must demonstrate that the obligor's child support obligation would be increased by 15% or more to qualify for a modification of the child support amount. The Kentucky Child Support Guidelines use both parties' incomes to determine the appropriate support. If both of you are earning more money than in 1991, I'd suggest filing a motion to increase support and then subpoena his employer for his pay information. If you do not meet the 15% threshhold, drop the motion.

Good luck.
