Is it legal to marry a first cousen's son?

To be certain of the answer I am about to give, I would have to map out the family tree to be certain you are actually talking about a first cousin.

The statute in Kentucky is KRS 402.010. It says no one can marry who is closer than second cousins by blood (does not include adopted or step-persons). Your first cousin's son is a first cousin once removed and not a second cousin as most people think. A second cousin is six degrees of relationship away from you and a first cousin once removed is five degrees removed.

So, the technical answer is no, you cannot. However, the realistic answer may be that you should go down to the county clerk's office and see how they measure relationships because it may be different.
