Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Kentucky

Local car dealer stole my car

I recently tried to purchase a 2004 grand am, and was using my car for a trade in, i had a 2000 toyota celica gts i owed 5500.00 on it. they took my car on trade, then i was informed that the deal was incomplete and since i could not afford full coverage, i couldn't buy car. Then I ask for my trade in back and the GM said too bad, he sold it already and there was nothing I could do about it. Is this true.

Re: Local car dealer stole my car

There are two things that can be done and of those, ONE should be done. The dealership owes you the car back. It did not belong to them until the deal was complete and you can ring suit for the car or damages. Depite the civil suit, Criminal charges should be considered. Speak with your County Attorney. You might also call the Kentucky Attorney General whose office may be able to bring pressure. This is criminal conduct and should be pursued.
