Legal Question in Employment Law in Kentucky

When a person applies for a job, and states on the application that he has been in prison over ten years ago, is it legal to ask the details of the reason during the interview? Is it not enough to just say it was 22 years ago and nothing but improvement has happened since? A friend if mine cannot get past the interview because of asking the specifics of his arrest. He has been out 22 years, got a college education, excellent worker, and does not drink or do drugs.

Yes, it is legal to aks for prior criminal convictions or arrests and request details. Your friend can always refuse to give the details, but this probably will result in no further interviews.
