Did you go AWOL from an Active Duty unit? Army? Complete advice is difficult via email alone, but if you were Army the likley best course of action is turning yourself in at Fort Knox, KY where they operate a Deserter Control Point. Despite the lengthy period of time, it's my belief they will chapter you in lieu of court-martial. See Chapter 10, AR 635-200. This will typically result in an Under Other Than Honorable (OTH) discharge, but is a welcome alternative to facing the possibility of a conviction and confinement at court-martial. No one can guarantee you a particular disposition, but you should closely consider addressing this issue so you do not continue to live with the fear and uncertainty of your current status.
