Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Kentucky

Unsigned Will

I was named beneficiary in my boss' will 5 years ago. Just 2 mos. before he passed away, he met with attorneys and drafted a new intended will. The intended will is better for me, but he never signed it. I am being told the intended will is a legal document only if everyone agrees. First question, does my vote count for or against intended will a beneficiary or only the familys, as the trust? Second, the family states they want to honor his wishes, but they don't want to honor his wishes for me, only what they think is fair for everyone. Can they do t his?

An unexecuted will has no legal value. However, it could be introduced as evidence. You might have a contract cause of action depending on the details of your situation. It would be worth having a consultation with an attorney who is both familiar with estate law and also contract law.
