Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Louisiana

Being Harrassed 10 years after Discharge of Debt

Ten years ago, I filed Chapter 7 ago in Louisiana and was discharged. Yesterday, I received a dun letter from a collection agency for one of the debts that I believed to be discharged.

10 years has passed since I filed. Can my original creditors come after me again? I have not made any purchases at the store mentioned. Should I let them know again the docket number and year? And will it help?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Post-bankruptcy collection efforts

You should indeed tell them that you filed bankruptcy and give them the case number. Thedebt is discharged if it was incurred prior tofiling the bankruptcy and the creditor was scheduled; or even if the creditor was not scheduled, provided there were no assets distributed to creditors and the omission was not in bad faith.
