Legal Question in Business Law in Louisiana
Ebay Auction Dispute
I won an ebay auction for a boat value 12200.
I am in OH and the seller is in Baton Rouge LA.
I wanted get out of the deal, for reason that I thought the transaction might be fraudulent.
Seller is threatening to sue me because he sold the boat for less and suing for difference of 2800.
Is ebay a binding contract?
What are the jurisdiction rules between sates?
Since he sold the boat do we even have a contract?

Re: Ebay Auction Dispute
You had a contract if his offer wasn't fraudulent. I'd have to look at eBay's rules to know if they designate a jurisdiction. Otherwise, he might sue you down here in small claims and then try to enforce it up there. You probably don't want to let him get a judgment against you.
