Re: Creditors Calling

Dear LawGuru Friend,

Unless you know something I do not know, I do not think that they have to wait any time to call you and remind you that your monthly mortgage note may be late. Now, if the mortgage provided a grace period, it would stand to reason that they might not want to call you before that day arrived; but, unless there is something in the Fair Debt Collelction Practices Act that says they must wait a time before calling, I think they can call at any time after you become late with your payment. I am glad you brought up this question, however; for now I will go and read the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act to see just what I can learn about the issue you brought up. Thanks for asking! Hope I have not confused you, however. Good luck!

Sincerely,

Hardy Parkerson, Atty.
