You can surely ask them to do so.

However, he is not a juvenile at age

17, and he probably has committed

no crime in leaving home. Although

he might have the right to sue the

cops when he reaches age 18 for

false arrest, he surely would not

sue his own father for taking action

to bringing him back to the ones

who loved him and cared for him.
