Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana

theft of goods? does this mean YOU have to be the one who took the items from the merchant or owner? my son's x girlfriend worked at a jewerly store and stole merchandise and my son turned her in and they are putting theft of good charges on him as well. i do not feel this is legal because he did not personally take anything and they are also charging him with possession of stolen items when he only took the items from their home to turn them into the jewerly store where she worked at and took them. he was told she purchased them on her discount and now they are trying to charge him with 2 felonies. is this illegal? please let me know asap. we go to court in the morning...thanks
