Legal Question in DUI Law in Louisiana

Sell of a mobile home

I am trying to get my mortgage company to settle for a reasonable amount on the mobile home I am trying to sell. The total price owed on the mobile home is 18,800 and I am asking them to come to a reasonable agreement for a payoff. They are telling me that if they won't do this and they pick it up then they will sell it for less than I would have and make me pay the difference. Is this legal?

Re: Sell of a mobile home

Dear Friend,

They are certainly under no obligation to co-operate with you accomodating you so that you can sell your mobile home; and, of course, if you get behind on your mortgaage payments, they can seize and sell the mobile home; and, if they go about it right, they can hold you for the difference between what it may sell for at the sheriff's sale and what you actually owe on the mortgaged indebtedness. There is more to it all than this, but this is something to think about. Best of luck!

Sincerely,
