Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

I have a child support order from the state of Louisiana and my son's father lives in Alabama. He has yet to make any child support payments...is there anyone I can contact in Alabama to help enforce the order? The state of Louisiana has already attempted to contact his employer but since he works in a restaurant they said that he doesnt recieve a pay check so they can not garnish his wages.

Dear Law Guru Friend,

The law is on your side. Someone in an

official government position is not doing his

or her job. Write a letter to Governor Bobby

Jindal saying the Louisiana authorities are

not helping you and see how quick they get

to work and help you. Also, do the same to

the Governor of Alabama and see the same.

Call me and discuss this with me; or better still,

e-mail me your name and addresses and your

phone number and I will contact you by phone

and/or e-mail and discuss this further with you.

Again, I say, the law is on your side. Check or

no check, he still gets paid; and, if in fact no

check, then the IRS needs to be involved. Also,

if he has property still in Louisiana--say inherited

or otherwise--you can have it seized at little or no

cost to you. Again, feel free to contact me--of course,

at no charge.

Sincerely,
