Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

Child Support

I am behind in my child support payments. I have been served a Rule To Show Cause because of non payments. The order says the state is entitled to a Immediate Income Assignment Order. I assumed that this would be a form I could fill out and take the day of court.Seems as though an attorney is the one that has to fill this out. Meaning that I have to retain that attorney and I am not able to do so financially. How will this matter be taken care of if I appear in court without an attorney?

Re: Child Support

You won't write the order. Even if you hire a lawyer (s)he won't write the order. The State's lawyer will. Contact them if you want to stipulate to it.

I reccomend that you speak to a lawyer first, at least for some independent advice.
