Mortgage prepayment penalties/Divorce

Can a lawyer negotiate for his clients mortgage company to waive a mortgage prepayment penalty during a divorce if the couple is pending bankrupcy?

Dear Friend,

Yes, a lawyer can negotiate for whatever he pleases, if he can get the other side to also enter into the negoiations. And, of course, he can "negotiate for his cleint's mortgage company to waive a mortgage prepayment penalty...." Best of luck to you and yours!
