Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

My wife and I have been separated and living apart from each other for 3 years. We both have a significant other and want a divorce. It will not be contested and we have an agreement on the children and the financial situation. If we file, how long will the process take? Could this happen in a matter of days, weeks, or months?

Since you have already been separated longer than the requisite 6months, you need only file the petition, waiver of service, stipulated agreement as to custody, visitation and child support and the file the final judgment. This is usually a 15-30 day time frame.
