Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Louisiana

settlement

I accepted a financial settlement on a pending lawsuit 11/14/08. I was pressured into taking it from my lawyer who was yelling at me over the phone to take the settlement. even though I was not happy with the settlement I took it because we are schedule for trial at 1:30 on 11/17/08. It was a verbal aggrement over the phone. Can I change my mind and go to court or am I obligated to take the settlement. Nothing has been signed yet but we go to court tommorrow. Did I make a mistake by giving in to my lawyer and accepting the offer?

Re: settlement

You do not have to take the settlement unless and until you sign the paperwork. However, I would warn you about going to court without your lawyer. My experience is that clients don't really understand some of these cases and expect unrealistic results. Be very careful in what you choose to do. Since none of us on this site know anything about your case, any advice here should be taken with the smallest grain of salt.
