pay

it has been a month since i was let go from my job and i have yet to receive my paycheck...how do i get it

Louisiana law provides that when an employee resigns or is terminated, an employer must pay that employee on or before the next regular payday or within 15 days, whichever is less. If it has been a month since you left and haven't been paid, your former employer is violating the law. I assume that you've made demand (i.e., asked your employer for your check). If so, you may also be entitled to penalty wages and attorney's fees if (when) you have to file suit to collect the wages. An attorney can help you.
