Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Louisiana

Sexual Harrassment

I was sexually harrassed by my general foreman while working in Louisanna. He constantly grabbed me, made sexual comments towards me with and without people around. Should I contact a Lawyer for this or let it go and he do it to someone else? Its my word against his. What do I do??????

Re: Sexual Harrassment

You should talk to an attorney in Louisiana immediately. Do not let it go. Far from what many believe, only a very small percentage of sexual harassment offenses are ever reported. Harassers know that and they count on it to continue their predatory acts. Most go farther and farther each time until they are stopped.

You should contact an attorney so he can ask you more details. However, from what you wrote, it sounds like you did not put the company on notice of his acts by reporting him. Had you done that, and he kept it up, then you might have a suit against the company. At the very least you should contact the company personnel director, or President or CEO and give them the details. That would put them on notice that they have a problem employee. It probably won't help you, but if they handle the guy correctly, it will stop.
