Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana

Co-Executrix

I am Co-executrix with my oldest sister of my dad's Estate. Do Co-executrix's get paid? If so how much? Does it have to be stipulated in the Will in order for us to get paid from the Estate? Thanking you for your professional courtesies in this matter, I am.

Re: Co-Executrix

If your father's estate has been opened and there is an attorney representing you as co-executor, then it would not be ethically proper for me to provide you with legal advice, and you should consider this response to be just a statement of the applicable law.

If a will specifies what the executor's fee shall be (e.g. 2% of the value of the assets), then that is binding. If no fee is specified then the fee is 2.5% of the value of the assets.
