What exactly is succession?
I have tried to figure out from the previous posting what ''succession'' exactly is. My father-in-law recently passed away. He had a will but his present wife has not yet probated the will. She was given a ''life usufruct without bond.'' What is succession and how does it apply to the children of the deceased? All four children are from the deceased's first marriage.

A succession is the legal process of distributing the property of a deceased person.
