Legal Question in Workers Comp in Louisiana

In July 2006 I bought some property in St Tamanay Parish, Bush, LA 70431. My husband was in the military and passed way in Jan 2006. My widows compensation was $250,000. I purchased the property (cash) as an investment for my retirement. I re-married 1Apr2010 and put up a mortage onmy porperty to purchase property in the Morgan City Area. My new husband wants to be considered as co-owner but has not put up anything on the property other than my moortage on property that was already paid prior to ur marriage. What are my options?????

You need to go to a n attorney and have papers drawn up which declare any property purchased with your separate property to be considered separate property. Because the sale or puchase is being made during a community the will be a presumption that the property iscommunity even if he is not listed as coowner.
