Condo Associations

I own a condo in Bath,ME and we just had a special assessment for siding. I would like to know if I have the right to ask for a copy of the contract between the construction co and the assoc. THere seems to be some shady business going on. As owners we are charged well over the contract costs. As a homeowner what rights do I have with the assoc and the construction co. They are removing part of the condo and charging the owner to pay to replace it.

The Board of the association should be absolutely transparent regarding all financial matters including contracts as you have asked. I cannot think of any legitimate legal basis for the Board to refuse a request by a member to review it.
