Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maine

easement appurtenant meaning

my neighbors have an easement appurtenant to have access to the lake for boating, bathing and all other shore priviliges. Does this mean they have the right to leave their kayaks, canoes and other personal belongings on my property and to put in a dock and to mow my lawn etc??

Re: easement appurtenant meaning

That question is impossible to answer without reviewing the language in the deed that establishes the easement. It may provide for none of those activities (ie- just access to the water) or it may provide for storage of boats and parking but not picnicing or other land recreation or something else.
