Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maine

Laker waterfront property in Maine. Our property line with our neighbor is not perpindicular to the lake. Does the land based propery line extend into the lake for the purposes of placing a dock or is the water access rights perpindicular to the land?

There are several factors that go into answering your question fully. But the general rule is that with lakefront property, your property extends to the low-water mark. "For purposes of placing a dock" can be another issue, depending on permit requirements your town may have.

I would be happy to review your situation for you to determine if you need legal assistance with these issues.
