Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Maryland

Bankruptcy

Can I file chapter 7 bankruptcy on a debt owed to a bails bondsman? Even if a monthly repayment plan has to be set. I don't want them to be able to garnish too much of my wages.

Re: Bankruptcy

Yes - there is nothing about a bondsman's claim that would make it non-dischargeable per se, but as with every claim, there may be circumstances that might affect dischargeability. See a bankruptcy lawyer to go over your specific situation. We practice bankruptcy law throughout MD and VA, and would be glad to discuss the matter with you.
