Legal Question in Consumer Law in Maryland

Hi I just had a question. I just received a email about a recall of a product I used last year. In the email it said a ingredient in the product could possibly cause liver and kidney problems. This is a dietary supplement (Novedex XT) Well I took this product last year and started developing problems. The problems were on and off so I put off going to the doctor. I went to the doctor earlier this year but had no success on finding out what was wrong.

I currently still suffer on and off from the symptoms. I found out that a few are related to the kidneys. My question is if I go to the doctor and find out I'm having kidney or liver problems do I have a case. The symptoms started August 2009 and I went to the doctor with no sense earlier this year with the same symptoms I'm having now so they still have my record on file. Do I have a case if I'm having kidney problems. Thanks

Generally it takes a thorough review of your individual medical records as well as specific scientific information about the product, its complications and so forth before an attorney can determine if you have a viable case. Oftentimes an assessment requires both attorney and medical professional review. That being said, the fact that you developed kidney related symptoms should warrant a deeper look.

An attorney evaluation in these types of cases is very fact specific and too complex to be addressed in an online bulletin board. If you'd like to talk more about your particular case or get contact information for attorneys who currently handle dietary supplement lawsuits, you are welcome to call my firm at 410-216-7000 or otherwise contact a MD licensed attorney of your choosing.

Note that the law imposes strict time deadlines for filing claims. The above is not legal advice but I do hope that it helps point you in the right direction.
