Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Maryland

My aunt moved in with me 1.5 yrs ago. She paid off my morgage she said because I gave her a home and she needed so much assistance. She is now unhappy and wants to move but she said she is putting a lean on my home to get her money back. There were not wriiten agreement and the chaeck she wrote was out of an account with both our names on it. Can she do this?

She would have to sue you to do that. Whether she will succeed will depend on the facts.
