what is sol in maryland for credit cards

i received a letter today from a credit card from 1984, requesting payment in full.what is the statue of limitations on this type of debt.

In MD, the statute of limitations is generally 3 years, but it can go up to 12 years for instruments under seal (your credit card agreement may have been sealed, but it's not likely). However, there are many things that can extend the statute, including payment on account, or admission of the debt.
