Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

Burglary Charges

If I am charged with burglary 1st 3rd & 4th degree, theft under $500 and malicious destruction and the only evidence they say they have is a witness that I don't know and she lives in the same complex that the crime took place but didn't witness the crime, she is also a friend to the victim, she says I tried to sell her some of the stolen goods which were dvd's and Boots.

She said that the dvd's were in a ''Save Alot'' plastic grocery bag. We all shop at Save Alot around this area.

The police came searched my wife's car( I don't have a car) they found a ''Save Alot'' plastic grocery bag, I had clothes in it, it had been in my wife's car for awhile prior to this crime, the police took the clothes out and kept the bag as evidence. No dvd's were found in the bag. Boots were stolen also and I had a pair of boots in the car; The police took them to the victim and he told them they were not his.

I did not do this crime and would like to know if this evidence can convict me. Innocent and really concerned.

Re: Burglary Charges

It doesn't sound like it if that is all the evidence but I would need a lot more info to make a decision, and also would need to see the police reports. Were you already indicted? Please feel free to contact me directly so you can give more info, either email or telephone.

Re: Burglary Charges

1. Police will not reveal their evidence willingly - if they do, it is to gain information with disinformation.

2. When you hire an attorney, proper discovery will be obtained from the State, which is the totality of the evidence they intend to present. Until then, unless your attorney is in plea negotiations, do not rely on what they tell you.

3. They may be fishing, do not talk to anyone, immediately call an experienced lawyer. You cannot talk your way out of this.

Feel free to call me to discuss.
