Legal Question in DUI Law in Maryland

Ignoring a Summons

I have been summonsed as a witness for a DUI trial, but will be out of town and unavailable for the court date. As it seems unlikely that the trial will be moved, my other option is to ignore the summons. Are there any legal ramifications of this?
