Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

i am 17 years old. my mother past away in april 2010. since them i have been living with my boyfriend. Becasue of my mothers death my grandmother recieve me and my sisters survivor benefits for raising us. She is no longer raising me nor had she since my mom died. She refuses to give me any of the money and wont come to an agreement. Can i sue her to recieve the money?

If you're close to 18, when you will legally become an adult, you can wait until then and contact social security to redirect these benefits. If you''ve just turned 17, you could have an adult appointed your temporary guardian and then go to social security to have the benefits paid to the guardian on your behalf.
