Re: Verifying child support

You could file a motion to modify support and subpoena his tax records or any business records to try and verify his income. This is always difficult when you are dealing with a self-employed individual, because he might be understating his income on his returns, especially if it's a cash business. You could also subpoena his file from the mortgage company--they would have a loan application on file in which he was supposed to reveal any income sources. You should contact the Charles County bar association to try and get a referral to an experienced family attorney or do a web search. I might also be able to find someone interested in your case if you would like.
