Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Maryland
Rental Increases
Is there a limit on how much a landlord can increase your rent at one time. In other words, can my landlord increase my rent by $100 a month?

Re: Rental Increases
Rental agreements are private agreements between two parties. A landlord will charge what the market will bear. He can raise your rent by $100 a month. Given the freedom we have in markets, if you are not pleased with the rent increase, you do not have to stay there.
Is he trying to raise rent for the remainder of the lease agreement? Or is he informing you that the rent will go up by $100 a month for the next lease period should you renew your lease?
