Personal Injury at the Workplace

I fell in my company parking lot in 2002 due to ice in the parking lot when getting out of my car. When I reported it to HR they asked if anyone saw me. That day both of us were transferred and received different jobs and more money. Has the statute of limitations run out for a civil suit against that company?
