Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland

Home recorded as "Tenancy By The Entirety". After Divorce is granted must title be

changed to "Tenants In Common"? Or does it automaticaly change to the

by/because of the divorce. Must I actually go to the court house to have the change

made to "Tenents in Common"?. I want to maintain control of my 50% in the house

and leave it ti my heirs.

Thanks, larry

In Maryland, the default is tenants in common. A couple can only hold Tenants by the Entirety while they are married. Since you are divorced, the T by E is broken and the property automatically becomes TIC.
