Legal Question in Traffic Law in Maryland

I was stopped for speeding and recieved a ticket driving 77 in a 55 going NB on RT29 due to an emergency or what I thought was an emergency, and need to know how do I proceed. Is it worth hiring an attorney for a speeding ticket costing me 160.00? all I know is I don't want the points

Well it is a 2 point tickets, and if you pay it you automatically get the points. Definitely request a trial within the 30 day deadline and consider gettimg a lawyer.
