Legal Question in Workers Comp in Maryland

workers compensation

If I get voc rehab, can I still file for a judgment? Or, can I file a civil suit against the county, while attending voc rehab? I have been permantly disabled from driving a pg county school bus. I was advised that I would probably be given voc. rehab to be retrained. However, I haven't received any funds from the county in 5 months. I have exhausted my savings, and I have had to borrow money to survive with a family of 5. I have been told that I am not owed any lost wages by an attorney. But I need a judgment in order to prevent repo's and service interruptions. I feel my lawyer is on cruise control, and is not really fighting to make sure I come out ahead. What would an aggresive attorney suggest?

Re: workers compensation

All of your remedies are restricted to proceeding before the worker's compensation commission. If you are in voc rehab, you should be receiving TTD, unless you already received a permanency award. If you haven't received what you're entitled to, your attorney should file issues with the wcc and get an order.
