Legal Question in Business Law in Massachusetts

Slander

I received a VERBAL WARNING LETTER OUT NO WHERE??? There was no personal talk before hand. They accused me of ''malicious'' gossip (I called another girl a snob and she found out. I have been accused of cheating on my husband, undermining my boss with a bad attitude. My family didn't recognize this person to whom they were writing about. Also, there were stories involving me and a person who did the wrong thing. They actually LIED about a couple of circumstances. Also, that I am paranoid and lack in self-confidence...I admit a bit on that one. Are all of these silly nit picking things justify a lawsuit? I feel that my character was ruined within my office and now I am almost completely ignored by my co workers.
