Legal Question in Consumer Law in Massachusetts

Product liability

I have a question involving e-commerce/ liability waivers. I manufacture various products and sell them on-line. I am in the beginning stages of starting a business and trying to make my products commercially available. In these early stages I would rather not be liable for damages, bodily injury etc (Not that the product is dangerous. Im just trying to be on the safe side).

In the past a have included in my listing a generic disclaimer of liability. It states that by purchasing the item the buyer agrees to wavier any liability on my part. However I am not familiar with the laws governing these types of internet transactions. Does a disclaimer like this one need to be signed to be legally binding or am I taking the proper steps to protect myself?

You should consider speaking with a business attorney, prior to launching this venture.
