Original loan incurred 1981.
Debt written off in 1992.
New company purchased debt 2000.
Am I liable for this debt.

Was there ever a suit brought against you? What was the result? Judgments can be collected for 10 to 20 years sometimes.
Tell me more of the story. How much money was involved? What evidence do you have that it was "written off" and why do you think that affects your obligation to pay?
