Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

What can a Landlord do when he finds out someone is smoking pot in his apartment

I have been complaining to my landlord about my neighbor that smokes marijuana in his apartment. I am allergic to pot and it makes me sick.

My Landlord says that there's nothing he can do about it. He said ''I can't tell someone how to live in the privacy of their apartment''

I find this very distressing... This person is blatantly breaking the law and there's nothing anyone can do about it??

He asked me what I want him to do and I said well warn he that if he dosen't stop you would evict him. He said I can't because thers no evidence except the odor of the pot and thats not enough to go on.

My question is, what can I or my Landlord do? Is my only alternative to call the police? when they come they will probably tell me thats there's nothing they can do also.

You know.... the more I think about this, the more I believe the criminal gets away with murder and the victims have to suffer.

Well, thanks for any reply I might get.
