Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

I moved out of an apartment that I was subeltting in, but was not on the lease. Upon leaving I took some of my belongings but not all. Since then, I have been to court, and was allowed into the apartment, but all of my stuff is gone. The court was not able to help, and I filed a police report. What are my options?

You did the right thing by filing a police report.

You should also file a civil complaint for your damages, i.e. the loss of your personal belongings. Any photographs or other documentary evidence of the value of your personal belongings would be helpful. If the replacement value of your personal belongings is less than $2,000.00, you should bring your complaint in Small Claims.
