Mother can forbid boyfriend from mother's home, and can enforce this through Superior Court or Probate Court. She can also seek a criminal complaint if boyfriend trespasses in the home after notice. She does not, however, appear to have standing under M.G.L. c. 209A, as she has no family relationship with boyfriend, nor has she (mother) dated boyfriend. If boyfriend has been living in mother's home, though, and has put her in reasonable fear of violence, she -can- seek a restraining order.

Mother: it's hard to make peace in these cases, but one hopes the infatuation will end on its own. Adding strife between you and daughter rarely serves the desired purpose. that's why teachers forced you to slog through "Romeo and Juliet" in High School.

Boyfriend: If you are the 19-year-old, respect mom's wishes. If you are the 17-year-old, respect mom's wishes. Either way, you should be respectful.

Daughter: Insist on protection! yes, on HIM wearing a condom! Neither a disease nor a child is a good result at your age.
