Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Child Support College Student

My son is 18 & will graduate from H.S. this spring. In the fall, he plans to attend college fulltime, but would like to live oncampus. Will his father no longer have to pay child support to me at that time? And if the child goes to school near his father and his father has him live with him while he goes to college, do I in turn have to pay him child support?

The issue of custody and support is determined either by agreement or by the order of the court.

Child support can generally continue until the child is 23, as long as he attends school.

I believe that in fairness the two of you should resolve the financial issue in a way that makes sense.
