Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

When my daughter was 17 years old, she was friends with a guy who was older than her. He extorted money , and she was afraid to tell us. She worked and gave him the money. It lasted for several years. She was paying for her friend's insuranes, different payments, he always asked her for money. She also paid with her credit cards. We learned about it when all of her credit cards were full. She was always living with us. He lived here and then in another state. When we found out and called him about it, he refused to answer the phone calls and did not want to talk about paying back. Now we want to apply for a small court. She is very afraid of him. We are her parents and want to prove his guilt and get her money back. And we have all the evidence of these payments. Our main goal is to prove such as it is. I want to your advice and comment how to do it. Thank you.

File a lawsuit against him .

Or let it go if you think it will be too stressful for your daughter.
