Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Hi,

I live in MA and was also married and then divorced in MA. The divorce was approx. five years ago and in the decree, I am allowed access to my ex-wifes health and dental insurance so long as I pay the difference between a single and a family plan. I am currently doing so but wonder what happens if I re-marry. Am I able to still access her insurance? There is no language in my decree describing this scenario. I was told I am able to access this insurance so long as she does not re-marry but not sure if the same is true for myself.

Thanks

Your ex-wife cannot continue to carry you if you get remarried. You will no longer be considered her spouse for insurance purposes. You may be able to get your own COBRA policy for continuation of coverage.
