Do lawyers generally ask for interogtories and production of documents for a modification?

It depends on the case, but it would not be unusual in the least for a party to send out interrogatories and requests for production of documents. It is common to send out interrogatories and requests for production of documents for a modification action. Other methods of discovery allowed by the Massachusetts Rules of Domestic Relations Procedure such as requests for admissions and depositions are also often used during modifications.
